Heard about hackathons, but don't know where to start? Then you're in the right place! Attend this casual student hackathon and we'll teach you the basics, whether you know how to code or not!

Our event is meant to be a casual environment open to anyone who is curious about coding and hackathons! It's not a competition, but a challenge for those who seek it. For more details, check out the Unlock Hacks Website!

Requirements

  • Your team will need to submit a video presenting your project/idea.
  • This video must be created during the hackathon. 
  • You may build off of an old project if you like, but make sure to describe the changes you've made during the hackathon.
  • You may submit your project to another hackathon as long as the other hackathon allows this as well.
  • You should also submit any documents used for planning, as well as any prototypes or the project itself, if you have one.

Most Innovative Hack

The team that scores the highest in the "Innovation" criteria will win Leading Learner's Expansion Packs. Expansion Packs sponsored by Leading Learners will focus on explaining 15 ways for student winners to completely focus on their idea's growth, innovation, and expansion of their projects. These practices, tips, and resources were assembled by the Leading Learners Chief Executives. Unique QR codes will be provided for awardees to access the documents that comes within each Pack.

Best Environmental Hack

Create a hack that helps the environment! Each member of the winning team will get to directly enter a four month fellowship sponsored by Action for World where they will explore intersectional environmentalism, climate change and leadership. In addition, each member of the team will also get 2 months access to Replit's hacker plan.

    Has obvious effort been put in this project? Does the team try to incorporate new concepts into their project?
  • User interface/experience
    Does the project have an enjoyable design for users? Is it simple and convenient to use?
